Configuring a NEC Phone to work remotely with a SL2100

Firewall


The following NAT rules must be in place and ingress permitted from the home workers IP Address

UDP 5080 - 5081 forwarded to the IP Address configured in programming step 10-12-09
UDP 10020 - 10277 forwarded to the IP Address configured in programming step 84-26-01

Configuring the Phone

Method 1 - using the LCD Programming Menu
  • Press Menu then 0
  • Move the curser to the Password Field
  • Input password (6633222)
  • Press 2 to access SIP Settings
  • Press 8 to access NAT Traversal
  • Press 1 to access NAT Traversal Mode
  • Set to Dynamic
  • Press 3 to access WAN Settings
  • Press 1 to access WAN Mate IP Address
  • Enter the public IP Address where the NEC PBX is hosted (use the * key to input dot symbol)
  • Press OK
  • Press Exit 3 times and then Save
  • Phone will reboot and if located at the remote location will connect to the system
Method 2 - Using the phone's Web GUI
  1. Press and Hold the HELP button on the handset
  2. Press 2 (System Information) when the display changes
  3. Press 1 (Network Settings)
  4. Press the "Down Key" to view the assigned IP Address
  5. Browse to the IP Address

Default Login Data:
UN = ADMIN (case sensitive)
PW = 6633222 (Spells NEC)

Browse to SIP Settings > NAT Traversal > NAT Traversal Mode - set to Dynamic



Browse to SIP Settings > NAT Traversal > WAN Settings > Mate IP Address - input the public IP Address where the NEC PBX is hosted.



Press SAVE at the bottom of the page.

Phone will reboot.
